Fifteen minutes per page and 2016 January Calendar pages ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your weekend is going well.  I have my final two January 2016 Calendar pages to share with you today and here is the first …

Tick tock - fifteen minutes no more!

Love the snowflake stamps and the fact that I thought to make my own stencils/masks!
The sparkle is wonderful!  The time goes by quickly though!
Do you get the feeling that I really enjoyed myself lol?!

And here my third and final 2016 January calendar page …

Sorry I didn't get such a good photo of the second page - grr!
You can see here how much darker the background is with this picture

And the way I used the stamps and the mask
I've embellishments left over from another project that I will use for embellishing
I stamped the label/banner three times onto white snippets and 'January' six times
I have all the pieces now put into a folder waiting for next month's prompts!

A final look at both.
I love the rich blue on the left and the light but cold blue and sparkle on the right!

I started both of these in the same way by putting some Pebeo blue Acrylic paint into an empty spray bottle and topping it up with water.  Once again I followed the fifteen minute challenge at the Speed Craft Challenge.  I sprayed both white sheets with diluted paint, dried them with my heat gun.  On the one on the left hand side I stamped the little snowflake with one of my favourite DI colours.  Next I heated the card again before using my home made snowflake mask and adding the Cosmic Shimmer paste through the die cut mask and I was finished!  In less than fifteen minutes too – a great way to kick start the year!

On the second sheet I sprayed the card twice with the diluted paint, drying in between each spray.  This time I grabbed one of my Faber-Castell Snow Cone Gelato and rubbed that through my home made mask and lightly sprayed with water and then heat set.  Finally I used DI Peacock Feathers with the beautiful snowflake stamp and randomly stamped across the sheet.  I heat dried it, you can see I got a little too close on more than one occasion lol!  The third and final sheet and put it to one side.  Two more pages finished and ready to be mounted onto card or chipboard some time and ready to be bound in December!  I may add more or not – I have a rough idea of how I wanted it to look but I’m not completely there with the design yet.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment.  I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do this week.  ttfn Karen x

Hiya Karen

Re your comment on my blog, I used a piece of corrugated cardboard but left it in tact, ie didn't rip any of the paper layer off, hope this helps - Sam xx
