It's blog hop time at House of Cards Challenge ...
Hello lovely friends and visitors, I hope your week is going well.
It is the end of term at House of Cards Challenge and we are saying goodbye to some of my lovely Design Team members and some of us are staying on. To say goodbye to the DT and to thank our DT we are celebrating with a blog hop which runs from today, 1 December, until 15 December and if you want to win some prizes make sure you do the hop as soon as possible. Along with the blog hop we’ve a Design Team call. If you are interested in joining the HOC Design Team then you need to visit the House of Cards Challenge for the details.
Getting back to the blog hop you should have arrived here from Judy’s blog and next you need to go to Katy’s blog. If you get lost or forget you just need to go back to House of Cards Challenge. Make sure you leave me a comment too so that your name goes into the draw!
We also have an awesome photographic inspiration this month and that photo is below. Beneath the inspiration photo is the card I created for the hop …

You can see the very pretty and little snowflake stamp I used. My original idea did not work for several reasons so I printed out our inspiration photograph and got my Inspired by Stamping stamp sets to think of another idea. I must say up front this idea is much better than my original plan lol! I wish you could see the shimmer from those pretty pink baubles. I used my AquaTints to colour the die cut circles and I splattered a little purple on to give it some more depth, the baubles were inspired by the bauble in the photograph. After I coloured the die cut circles I splattered several of them with red ink to match the colour on the candles and it didn’t look right with the pink so I grabbed some other die cut circles and splattered a little purple to give it much more depth. I stamped and heat embossed each snowflake with Victorian Velvet and clear detail EP. The texture from the snowflakes, the embossing folder, the string, sequins, bows and from the final touch of Distress glitter is just wonderful, it’s a real touchy feely card and perfect for any girly girls in the family.
I am so happy this turned out so well and you will be seeing more cards like this lol. Once the circles are coloured the rest of the card is pretty easy to create. In fact you could use coloured card or PP/DP and you don’t have to stamp and heat emboss to whip up a few very quick cards.
One thing I do recommend is that you add a little gold top to your bauble – it makes it look so much more like a bauble and not a circle attached to some paper string. Finally creating this card is awesome snippet busting!
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon. ttfn Karen x
