Snippets and stencil smooching ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your week is going well.
I wanted to thank you all for the lovely get well wishes and thoughts for my mum and OH.  We are hoping to talk to my brother later on today and we should get a clearer idea then what is going to happen to mum.  She will have to have an operation we just don’t know when or how bad it is right now, yes I am worried but there’s nothing we can do – it’s down to the Doctor’s and Specialists at the hospital.  I got to play a little last night which was very good for me and here is the result of my play …

A nice little A6 card
A final look

Created for me and especially for these Challenges
I was playing with some inky panels and die cuts last night thinking about the challenges and when I saw the die cut stars I knew I had to use them especially for this challenge Stars by Simply Red:

Anyone who ever held you; Would tell you the way I’m feeling
Anyone who ever wanted you; Would try to tell you what I feel inside
The only thing I ever wanted; Was the feeling that you ain’t faking
The only one you eve thought about; Wait a minute can’t you see that I

I wanna fall from the stars; Straight into your arms,
I, I feel youl I hope you comprehend

When I shared this card I explained how I experimented with the ink that is on a stencil after it’s been used to add colour through a stencil to the card.  Almost exactly the same as this month’s Tim Holtz Technique Re-Mix.  I have these smaller pieces of card when trimming down an A4 folded piece of card to become a 148mm square card (6” square).   I experimented a bit further because when I tried to do it a second time no ink came off but I could see that there was ink on the stencil.  I grabbed my spray bottle of water and sprayed the stencil with water and took another pressing from the ink left on the stencil.

My lovely OH said to me today how do you put up with this back pain 24/7?  And that’s my polite version of what he said, the poor thing.  Twenty four seven back pain is the one thing I wouldn’t wish on anyone, with the exception of several very bad peeps from history.  He is moving a little better today and I’m hoping it will go away and ease completely for him soon.  I’m okay-ish, worried about my mum and OH, but very worn out to be honest lol.  I probably won’t get to post again for a few days.  Please don’t worry if you don’t see me around for a bit I have several secret squirrel posts to write and other, not fun or crafty, stuff I need to do.  I am really hoping to have some time to play with my new stamps soon, I have several sets that were purchased for me and several that I won that I have not had time to play with yet – they are tormenting me, calling my name!

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment.  I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x

Hi Karen! This is lovely, so pretty. Sadly I have to delete it from Mr Linky as I only allow one entry per person per week now. Do please keep playing as it's always lovely to see you!

Hugs

FABULOUS inky background for your stars card Karen. LOVE that song too.

Hope you and those around you feel better soon.

Hugs, Sarn xxx

PS: Thanks for entering the Snippets Playground with this - but as mentioned in Di's (and my own) Snippets Post, we are experimenting with only ONE entry this week (and possibly from now on), so as this was your second entry, it had to be deleted. xxx

This card is just beautiful Karen! I love the background and stars. I hope you get that clear picture of what is going on with your mom and I pray that the doctors will be able to do their magic. Hope OH's back is better too. Hugs, Brenda

You are such a great teacher of technique, Karen! I ALWAYS learn something from my visits to you. I just love how you squeeze every bit of art out of your products - it's so educational and inspiring! This creation is brilliant!

You and your husband and mother remain in my prayers. It's tough to have chronic conditions and be going through a rough patch yourself, but when it happens simultaneously to your loved ones, it really really sucks. Hang in there, my friend, and keep the faith! Huge tender hugs, Darnell
