Snippets and Layers of Acrylic Paint ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your weekend is going well. I’ve dipped into my multiple bags of snippets to create this card. I’ve also heavily experimented on the galaxy background but using mainly acrylic paints this time and here it is

Another A5 galaxy card
It's not too deep because I will post this one
All the details
Layers of ink, Pebeo Iridescent and Luminarte H2O's
Little snippets perfect for die cutting and stamping

I’ve been trying to capture the right colours and look of a galaxy background for quite a while. It’s something I have been talking about and discussing with my hubby lol! Both of us love to see the photographs from NASA and I have many favourite galaxy photographs on a Pinterest board to inspire me. Up until recently I have never been happy with the end result and part of that has been adding too much black paint. I’ve created a couple of lovely backgrounds with white card and watercolours that I have had to add some black to make them look right and I finally got it nailed this past week. Hubby recommended that I try starting out with black card. I don’t really like black card. It is why I don’t often do black and white projects because I’m a bright colour creator and lover.

I’ve been meaning to try my Doxides on black card though and this seemed to be the perfect opportunity. So I added Doxides to black card and I hated it. To my eye there was too much black and not enough colour. I was left with the choice of throwing away the black card or using my Dyna interference paints to see if I could create a galaxy. Luckily for me it worked.

However I and hubby now prefer the galaxy backgrounds created with Brusho Watercolour Crystals and Twinkling Luminarte H2O’s and Ranger Perfect Pearls and black ink and white watercolour paper, talk about being contrary lol! I know that I need to experiment more with my Doxides on black card but at the moment I prefer them on white and Kraft card. If anyone would like to know how I created the above background please let me know. You may have to wait a little while though as I cannot seem to kick the virus I’ve had for a while now and once again I apologise for my lack of visits right now. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x
