Hello
my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your week is going well. I
only just got this project finished lol! It’s taken me a while to
get it right, now I know that mixed media isn’t about getting it
right all the time but I need these girlies to look like Vampire
Witches and that’s what has taken me some time. Anyways here is
this month’s journal pages …
A double page spread of Vampire Witches
Vampire Witch #1
Vampire Witch #2

Me
I
started creating this journal page much earlier this month and I
roughly drew the girls in pencil onto white Sheena stamping card.
They’ve been rubbed out multiple times on my card because they were
too cute. I wanted a real goth like or vampire feel rather than cute
girls in make up looking like zombies because it’s All Hallows Eve.
Once I had drawn them correctly I watercoloured them but they didn’t
look right. Then I started to add layers of acrylic paint in grey,
black, a deep red for lips, silver for the eyes and white for light
and highlights. Once I had finally finished them and put them into
my mixed media journal they were lacking so I stamped the flowers
with and coloured them with H2O watercolours. I fussy cut them out
and added a floral crown to vampire witch #2. Something was still
missing from vampire witch #1 and as I had finally located these
chipboard bats I painted one of them black with white and silver
accents.
It
was only at the last minute that I finally found the chipboard bats,
I’ve been looking for them for most of the month and it turns out
they were in a box on my desk, grr, I need to sort through some more
of my stash again. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit
and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time
to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x

Fabulously mixed media journal pages! I love how the pages play off one another and have unique characteristics as well as similarities! The mirrored colors create a cohesive pairing while allowing each to shine on their own as individual works as well. Great take on this month's challenge! Thanks for playing along with the Creative Embellishments October Challenge!
