First mixed media projects catch up ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your week has started well. Getting the laptop sorted has taken much more time than expected, grr, I love technology when it works but when it goes wrong it’s a real pain lol! Anyways I want to catch up with the projects I’ve shared on my Instagram account whilst I couldn’t blog and believe me I tried to blog through my mobile but it was too difficult lol! Here are some of the projects I’ve created …

Another piece of mixed media Autumnal themed art
The stencilled part

The beautiful die cut leaves and a clay flower

I used a piece of product packaging to create the base layer, it was chipboard so I added a thin layer of gesso and then I coloured it with acrylic paints. On a seperate piece of card I created a sky and ground using watercolours. Once dry I coloured through the stencil using Distress inks and ink blending foam. The leaves were all die cut from multiple snippets which I coloured with Luminarte H2O watercolour paints. I created some flowers using air dry clay which I coloured with inks and Luminarte H32O’s and once dry I added some wax to the top of them. I then worked out a layout that I was happy with and glued everything in place.

My second project was also created with packaging, lol, I have become a better recylcer lol! Once again a layer of gesso was applied to the chipboard and once it was dry I attached the stencil and added a layer of crackle texture paste. I left it to dry before adding the colour. Firstly I used Brusho Watercolour Crystals but I darkened here and there with Distress Oxide ink pads and some splashes of Luminarte H2O watercolours, I love adding splashes of Twinkling H2O’s! The leaves were die cut again from multiple snipppets and I coloured them with Brusho’s. I coloured a piece of chipboard with H2O’s and once dry I dabbed my Versamark ink pad all over and then built up layers of triple embossing powder which I stamped into and once cool I added wax to where the butterfly had been stamped. I played around with the layout but added some lace and ribbon to make it a bit more feminine.

I have to admit that I am loving the autumn themes at the moment and I love how much fun I am having creating them so thank you challenges! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x
