Mum's Birthday Card ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your week is going well. Earlier this year we attended my brothers wedding and my Mr insisted that I take something or some things with me to keep my hands busy at the hotel when we weren’t attending the wedding, lol! He knows me too well, lol, he knows that whilst one of my projects is drying I like to do another project and that I craft whilst watching TV in the evening. I decided to treat myself to a really beautiful Prima watercolour pad that I really wanted and I popped my watercolour pencils, watercolour crayons and a couple of paint brushes went with us too. I used H2O’s to colour one so I could create a birthday card for my mum and here it is

It's an 20cm square card
It had depth but not too much
The coloured panel with die cuts and embellishment
The watercoloured page
The collage background
A final look at the card

Created for me and especially for these Challenges
Country View Crafts Challenge Mixed Media with Autumnal Shades
Creative Artiste Challenge #31 Mixed Media Anything Goes

 MIUCB#6 Anything Goes & Watercolours

Scrapy Land Challenge #76 Anything Goes
I used Crafters Companion and Winnie & Walter dies
(I used a little green and a smidgeon of yellow so if not allowed please delete)

I recently coloured this one using Luminarte Twinkling H2O’s for the flowers and leaves and a very pale purple Brusho watercolour crystal for the background and yellow for the flower centres. Once it was dry I knew it would be perfect for mum’s birthday card. I used one of the glitter paper sheets that I don’t like to mat the image onto along with some really old brads that I’m trying to finish.

I recently figured out how to create A4 mixed media collage papers which I’ve documented for myself and I may share steps if people are interested. Creating collage papers using a whole lot of snippets too. I used one of my collage papers as the base layer on the card but I’ve covered most of that up lol! I used white snippets to die cut the butterfly and happy which were then coloured with H2O’s and so was the flower embellishment.

I coloured a few of the watercolour colouring papers whilst we were away and hubby wants to frame and display a couple of them. If we purchase mounts and frames I will blog them. This pad contains many beautiful prints on quality watercolour paper and I’ve not used half of the prints yet. I will use some for cards and will frame a couple for family gifts. Because the individual parts were created separately it was quick to put a card together. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x
