Christmas Mixed Media Tag #1 ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your weekend was fabulous and your week will be good too. Today I have a mixed media tag that was inspired by another beautiful tag. Me being me means that I was really inspired by the other tag but I wanted to do it my way which meant dabbling with multiple mediums and here is the end result …

A very sparkly mixed media Christmas tag!
It has lots of lovely texture and depth
I managed to photograph the sparkle!

Created for me and especially for these Challenges

Scrapy Land Challenge #77 Anything Goes
I used Spellbinders dies

I was inspired by the colours used on Lols tag on day one

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge have linked up with Tracy McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I didn’t know about Tracy’s challenge so I popped over to Tracy’s blog to ssee what it is all about. Anyways my lovely regular followers and friends know that I love to create tags and that means this challenge is a perfect for me.

The first tag that called my name was designed by the lovely Lols (Lorraine Aquilina), it’s jade and white I really love that shade of blue/green. Now when you look at Lols tag and mine they are a world apart because you all know that I can’t do clean tags, I’ve tried believe me, but mine end up as mixed media and I’m happy with that. To create this tag I my Simon Says Stamp waves stencil on the background and on the die cut circles and here’s how:

1. I attached the waves stencil to white card and added Peacock Feather Oxide ink.
2. I dried the ink then added Luminarte H2O watercolour to the background and left it to dry.
3. I die cut coloured with acrylic snippets into circles and I attached the stencil and applied texture paste.
4. I cut some little glittered card snippets to make the bauble cap and added ribbon and bows to finish the tag.

I am very happy that these challenges have got me creating my Christmas tags earlier than usual, they are my last minute rush items normally lol. The fact that I got to practice my mixed media skills is a real added bonus. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x
