Welcome to my blog! I am a stamp addict who has become obsessed with Mixed Media techniques and learning new techniques! I’m trying to learn how to draw and paint using books and social media. I love creating cards and mixed media projects for others and my family. I blog to keep a record of my progress.
my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your week was
a good one and you have awesome weekend plans. It’s the beginning
of December, oh my, which means we have a lovely blog hop for you and
it’s the start of a new challenge theme too whoop whoop!! We
are saying goodbye to some of our lovely team mates and I wish you
all the very best with wonderful opportunities and
I know we’ll still see each other in and around blogland.
should have arrived here from Jane‘s

are very lucky this month in that we are sponsored byMHK
4 Joy, and
All of these lovely companies provided us with images we could use on
our projects: so my heartfelt thanks go to our wonderful sponsors.
decided to pick an image from my lovely bosses store, in fact I
wanted this image before the blog hop, lol, I love Christmas
stockings so it really ‘spoke’ to me as the phrase goes. Another
bonus of using this image is that I knew I had the perfect
embellishments and the perfect patterned paper that would enhance the
lovely stocking even more and here is my card …
I knew what image, what papers and what embellishments I wanted to
use this card turned out being quick to create with the exception of
colouring the stocking digi. The think that took me the longest was
colouring the stocking so that there were areas of light and shadow
where required and here are my steps for you:
Print the image twice onto white card and dry the ink with my heat
I used a deep red Luminarte Twinkling H2O watercolour to colour every
other stripe deep red. I left the other stripe white.
I coloured the background around the stocking with silver paint.
I coloured a piece of white card with Fired Brick paint so that I had
a lovely matt for the stocking image.
I coloured the chipboard stocking and hat with the Fired Brick paint,
I folded A4 white card in half and inked the edges with Fired Brick Distress ink and dried it. I cut the patterned paper a little
smaller then adhered it onto the card.
I piped the snow onto the stocking cuff and hat and sprinkled a
little loose white glitter onto it. I found my last two poinsettia
flowers and applied the Cosmic Shimmer texture paste to them and once
dry I attached them to each other with a white brad.
I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment onto a snippet of white
card and inked the edges with the distress ink.
I applied the candy stripe ribbon to my card and I applied Cosmic
Shimmer texture paste to the decoupaged stocking lower layer.
I figured out how I wanted it to look and glued everything in
do hope you come on over and hop along and play along with us. Don’t
forget if you get lost you just need to go back to House of Cards and
find your back that way. Only twenty four days until Christmas Day
my lovelies!! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and
comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to
do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x
