February 2018 House of Cards ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your week is going well. I’m back with my House Of Cards post today and for this month once again we have a choice for you. You can either use the colour palette or be inspired by the photograph or use both as usual two options for you and here is the inspiration photograph …

And here is my card …

For some reason I went full on feminine
I will have to box this card if it is posted
All the yummy details
I didn't managed to capture the shimmer from the texture paste, sadly!

Luckily for me I can also enter these Challenges

I used Crafters Companion dies

I just realised there is no stamping on my card, lol! I used a piece of watercolour card and a lovely new stencil from Paperbabe and here’s how:

1. Attached the stencil to white watercolour card and I applied red acrylic paint through the stencil then removed it. Whilst the background was drying I washed the stencil and put to one side.
2. Once the background was dry I put the stencil back in position and added the texture paste, again I removed it to let it dry and to clean the stencil.
3. Once dry I coloured the background with pink watercolour.
4. I die cut the hearts and sentiment using Kraft card.
5. I coloured the ‘With Love’ with H2O watercolours.
6. I watered down some pink acrylic paint and coloured the cherry blossoms.
7. I delved into my card stock to find the lovely rich red card which I cut to be slightly smaller than the card base and I glued it in position.
8. Once everything was dry I figured out the lay out and glued everything in position.

I do hope you like it, even without any stamping, lol, I am happy with this one and that’s something that I do seem to be saying or thinking a lot more often these days. Enjoy the rest of your week and take good care of each other and yourselves. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x

You've made a beautiful feminine card that is perfect for Valentine's Day and for our All You Need is Love challenge at Frilly and Funkie, Karen. I love the stenciled roses and how you layered them to give depth. That heart die cut is oh, so delicate, and I could see that being used over and over again! Thank you so much for being such a dedicated contributor to our challenges at Frilly and Funkie! Hugs!
