2018 March House of Cards ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your week going well. I’m back with my House Of Cards post today and for this month once again we have a choice for you. You can either use the colour palette or be inspired by the photograph or use both options and here they are …..

I was inspired by the theme and the colours and here is my card …

I love this beautiful dragonfly stamp
You can see some of the shimmer and shine

Simon Says Stamps Monday Challenge In My Garden: I wish!

Unusually for me I wanted to create an A5 card and as I don’t use black card very often I also figured that creating this card was going to be a learning experience. I think this was my first time colouring black card with pencils too lol! I purchased a set metallic pencils earlier this year because I knew this theme was going to be a challenge at House of Cards. Creating and colouring on black card has been a learning experience and I plan to experiment more with stamping then colouring on black with my metallic pencils and with my Polychromo pencils.

It was fun and enjoyable to create this and I’ve learnt that these metallic watercolour pencils work better if you don’t add water to them, totally counter intuitive I know. The colours are brighter and more vibrant if you don’t add water, if you do add water the colours are dull and wishy washy. Very interesting and not in the least what I expected lol! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x

Hi Karen! Thanks for joining us again this month, always looking forward to the inspiration by the entries!
Love the coloring, I haven't tried coloring on dark cardstock, but I love that the pigments can still take center stage.
