Decay ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your week was a good one and you have lovely plans for this weekend. A couple challenge themes sparked some ideas in my noggin and that was why I have created this tag …

A yummy textured tag
I wish the texture paste showed up more!
All the yummy details
A perfect phrase for this decay inspired tag
Sadly I didn't capture the sparkle!

Created for me and especially for these Challenges

The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge Use a stencil and three mediums
I used a stencil, Pebeo acrylic paints, Pebeo texture paste, distress & distress oxide inks

I have recently started applying texture paste to card through a stencil and leaving that to dry. This way I have some backgrounds partly made before I start wanting to create something and that’s become a real bonus very quickly as waiting for texture paste to dry when you want to be creating is very frustrating for me lol! So I had this piece of card with texture paste dry ready and waiting to be used. I coloured the background with Salty Ocean Distress re-inker, having created a wash of that in my paint pallette. Once I applied the first layer of colour down I dried the card with my heat tool and then splattered ink all over the tag. I used Distress Oxide to stamp the flowers and then applied Pebeo Dyna inteference paint to the stamp and I stamped the flower image again. Once I had the background mostly complete I cut my tag out and inked the edges with Distress Oxide. I splattered ink over a chipboard quote and die cut the butterflies before colouring them with Picked Raspberry re-inker.

I figured out the layout of the butterflies and quote and I was finished. I am beyond happy with how this tag has turned out. It truly replicates my garden in that it is very overgrown with weeds and needs a complete make over. The fences are old and tatty and they are my texture paste element. Our neighbours flowers peek over the fences lol! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x
