Floral postcard #1 ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your week has started well. I’ve been playing with stamps, stencils, texture paste, watercolour pencils and acrylic paints and here is the end result …

Another 4" x 6" postcard
The texture paste gives texture and depth
All the yummy details

Created for me and especially for these Challenges

The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge Use a stencil and three mediums
I used more than three mediums so I hope that’s okay:
texture paste; acrylic paint; watercolour pencils; ink pads; colouring pencils

This was a quick and easy to create postcard. The thing that took the longest time was making sure the texture paste was dry before I did anything else to it. The flowers were stamped with a pale ink pad then coloured with watercolour pencils and a damp paintbrush was used to blend and bleed the watercolour from the pencil markings. Oncethe flowers were dry I used a watered down acrylic paint to colour the background and once that was dry I attached a stencil and applied the texture paste through it. I then made sure that the postcard was completely dry before I went back with my Polychromo pencils to add detail to the flowers and stems. Simples lol! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x
