April Tag #1 ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope you had a lovely Easter and your week is going well. I’ve been playing with one of my Penny Black stamps and snippets of my created backgrounds and here is what I created with them ...

A multi layered tag
These darker but richer shades are calling to me right now!
All the lovely details
I do love me a Penny Black stamp
A final look

Created for me and especially for these Challenges

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamps Monday Challenge A trio of something: I used three snippets to create my background and three lots of three sequins

Complimentary or Split Complimentary Colour Scheme
I am not good with colour wheels but I think I have done this correctly
I have used a split complimetary colour scheme by using:
Orange – Blue Green – Blue Violet

This tag came about because I had three different sized large snippets of coloured, stamped and stencilled card and I played with them to see if I could come up with a coherent background that I could use and it worked lol! I think I created the top and bottom snippet by colouring card with Distress re-inkers then overstamping with Distress Oxides. The top part of the tag also has some stencilling on it. The middle blue band I think I coloured with Distress Oxide re-inkers. After I had glued all three pieces to another piece of card I cut them out to the tag shape and used ink blending tool and foam to darken the edges. I added water splatters and splashes of re-inkers too. The flower was inked up with my Spectrum Aqua pens then stamped onto a snippet of white card. I dried the ink then coloured the background with Distress re-inker.

Once I had the background layout as I wanted it I played around with the layout of the stamped panel and I added further embellishments and the die cut butterfly. That was another snippet that had been coloured with gold acrylic paint. Flowers, sequins and twine finished my tag off. A good thing was that I have used several snippets and I now feel a bit more confident about creating collages with my own and with patterned papers. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x
