Butterflies #1 ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your week is going well. After seeing the choices over at the Butterfly Challenge I decided to give myself a wee dare and this is the end result …

A 148mm square card
It's not too deep
The beautiful Prima embellishments
All the lovely details

Created for me and especially for these Challenges
Butterfly Challenge #98 Spin the Wheel with the letter T
I used: Teal, Twine, Thistle, Triangles, Tomato and Two Identical Items lol!

Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge

Simon Says Stamps Monday Challenge A trio of something:
3 stencilled butterflies

I think this is the first outing of a set of stencils my lovely hubby purchased me. They are from Sheena Douglass and were a new to me concept. Basically there are three stencils and the first stencil has the whole of the butterfly cut out and you ink through that onto card with a pale coloured ink. The second stencil lies over the top of the first inking and you ink with a darker coloured ink, and then the third stencil applies the final layer of ink. I used a really old pale blue ink pad firstly, then Peacock Feathers Distress ink pad, and finally Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink pad. I dried the inks a little before spraying with water so that the inks would bleed out and create this lovely watercolour effect.

I used twine on the edge of my card, thistle coloured gems to create two identical triangles, and I added two identical Prima tomato coloured butterfly embellishments to finish my card. I had way too much fun for it to be considered cool but I loved every minute of this self imposed dare and it’s definitely something I will try again lol! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x

Well you certainly pulled your dare off with flare. I love your card.
Like your thinking outside of the box to create the triangles too.
Glad you had fun making and stretched yourself into the bargain. Than kyou for coming and spinning the butterfly wheel for this week. Hugs Mrs A.

What a great card - I love that you tried the new layered butterfly. They are awesome. I also really like the twine running down the side of the card. The orange is a nice contrast to the teal. Thanks for playing along at Papercraft Challenge
