It's a complimentary colour palette ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your week is going well. I wanted to create another non card project and unusually for me I remembered to photograph it before adding the die cuts, anyway here it is before …

A 15cm square panel

Lots of lovely textural details
And here it is after ...
Love the new die cutters!
Lots of lovely texture and depth
Lots of lovely bold bright flowers!
A final look

Created for me and especially for these Challenges
Country View Crafts Challenge Bling it Up
I’ve used a recycled panel
Creatalicious Challenge #137 Anything Goes optional dies/punches

I am seriously hoping this fits the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge, because I am seriously challenging myself creating these off the page projects incorporating lots of texture and lots of colour. I deliberately created a project with lots of jewel tones by using the following colours: turquoise blue, emerald green, peridot green, garnet, ruby red and a smidge of gold and I also added amethyst coloured die cut butterflies so there is plenty of jewel tone colour in this project.

I’ve been unhappy with some of my older mixed media projects because the acrylic paints look they have a plastic film on top. I was bemoaning this fact to my lovely hubby so he told me to purchase some non plastic like acrylic paints. I wanted to try the PaperArtsy Fresco Finish acrylic paints because I have heard nothing but good things about them so I purchased a couple to try and loved them. Then lovely Hubby purchased me several more, lol, so a huge thank you goes to my lovely hubby! I know I am lucky and spoilt because he encourages my artistic side and I try to not take that for granted.

This is my first proper project with these paints and I have to say they are awesome! Such rich or soft colours that cover beautifully. I love the fact that they are matt paints and that they are opaque or semi opaque or translucent and you can use them to create washes! I should have invested earlier in these awesome paints! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x
