Snippets #1 ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your week is going well. I’ve been digging into my boxes of snippets and I have stamped images, die cut then stencilled and from all of those little snippets and very old stash items I created this card …

A 148mm square card
Lots of lovely texture too
All the details
A final look

Created for me and especially for these Challenges

Happy Little Stampers Dies Challenge

I stamped the flowers onto three different sized pieces of white card snippets so was able to use up some small pieces creating this card. I used a larger snippet to die cut the stitched banner and after I had cut it I applied texture paste to it. The texture paste on the banner has taken on the colours of the inks used on the card but in muted tones. As I was experimenting with the layout of this card I realised that the stickers would work perfectly with it as would the doily. The doily was white so I coloured that with Peacock Feathers distress ink pad. The doily and stickers are more recently found old stash that just seemed to work with this card so I am a happy bunny because I used both old stash and snippets lol!

Once I had stamped the flowers onto the white snippets I coloured them with my Polychromo pencils and fussy cut them out leaving a white border so that they would stand out from the patterned paper. I then decided to colour the white border with a similar shade of blue ink that is on the banner die cut and that has worked beautifully. The Polychromo pencils are a newish acquisition and I am experimenting colouring with them. I have to say that I am happy with the finished flowers, which is a change for me with my colouring lol! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x

A very striking design, Karen! Those flowers are gorgeous. And well done for using up some snippets and old stash. Wish I could too, but I just seem to end up with more! Thanks for sharing your lovely card with us at Stamping Sensations.

Wow Karen - this is just gorgeous! Wonderful colours as well - and interesting to see that you too use Polychromos pencils now. Have you tried Sansodor blending fluid with them yet? That's fun to play with as well.
