An English Country Garden ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your week has started well. I’ve owned this stamp set for a few years but for some reason until recently I wasn’t in the mood to play with them, well better late than never …

A 5" x 7" card
It will need a box or to be hand delivered
All the lovely details
I'm sure I've seen that cottage before lol!
A final look

Created for me and especially for these Challenges
Butterfly Challenge #101 Spin the Wheel with the letter M
I’ve used Medium Blue, Moss Green and Mint Green and the matt paper (underneath the stamped and watercoloured panel is marbled with metallic accents!
Country View Crafts Challenge Words the patterned paper
Creatalicious Challenge #141 Anything Goes optional Flowers

I used multiple snippets to create this card. The cottage with the trees and garden were stamped onto a white card snippet, as were the extra foxgloves (those white snippets were much smaller). The patterned paper matt underneath the stamped and coloured images is also a snippet and the bright purple butterfly is the very last of some velvet paper snippets that I managed to stretch out for about a year. The base layer on the card isn't lol! It’s from a new patterned paper pad. I finally used up nearly all of my old patterned papers to the degree that I hand’t the right colours left so when I found this Prima patterned paper on special offer I jumped right in and purchased it.

I used a snippet of most underneath the stamped layers to give more texture and I used quite a few rose hip heads too. They had gotten very bashed about in the box they used to be in and the stems had been knocked off but I knew I would be able to use them at some time and the time is now for a change! I used my Spectrum Noir AquaTints to watercolour the scene and added a little shadow here and there when needed with colouring pencils. Although it’s a very fussy card with the decoupaging it was quick and fun to create and is another card for the box for my mum. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x

What a delightful scene you have created and beautifully coloured. We have a lot of (chocolate box) thatched cottages around where we live and yours just fits in perfectly. I don't think your Mum will want yo part with this one in her box though! Thankyou for coming and spinning the butterfly wheel this week. Hugs Mrs A.

I've got that song going round in my head now Karen, but what a beautiful creation, we have so many Digitalis in our gardens but not the thatched cottage! Thanks so much for joining us at Penny Black and More June challenge.

Wow Karen - what a fabulous card! It reminds me very much of the old fashioned embroidery my Granny used to do for some reason. Love it!

Lovely to 'meet' you, Karen - and what a lovely, lovely card! You've worked hard to add all those luscious layers and the result is just amazing!!!

There aren't many cottages like that around here, although there are a couple of very out of place in the next village, lol. Conjures up lovely memories of childhood holidays and drives out with the family.

Hope to see you again soon.
