Flying high ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your weekend is going well. I have been playing and experimenting with a new stamp set and here is one of the first things I have created with them …

It's such a beautiful stamp!
Lots of lovely texture and depth
Lots of yummy paint
That beautiful bird!
A final look

Created for me and especially for these Challenges

Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media Challenge

Love to Create Challenge # Mixed Media Anything Creative Goes

I was inspired by the shades of blue and the lovely feathers on the photograph

I am in love with this lovely new set of stamps – of course I am – it’s a hummingbird and one big enough that I can easily paint it with acrylics and watercolours lol! He/she really is a beautiful stamp and it takes all the hard work out of the occasion just because it’s prominent and big enough to be the star of the project!

I used on of the Visible Image monoliths to create this project. I coloured it with my PaperArtsy Fresco acrylic paints and left the monolith to dry. I used black Versafine ink pad to ink up the stamp and then stamped the hummingbird onto the monolith. I dried the stamped hummingbird then used a That’s Crafty mini stencil to apply some Viva Decor Crackle paint onto the monolith and I left it to dry overnight.

I used black Versafine ink pad to stamp the hummingbird onto a snippet of Sheena Douglass white stamping card. I made sure the image was dry before colouring him with Pebeo Dyna acrylic paints and left him to dry overnight. The next day I fussy cut the hummingbird and gently shaped him with my fingers to give him some depth.

I attached a snippet of fabric to the monolith and adhered the coloured hummingbird over the stamped humminbird using Collall 3D glue gel. I’ve decoupaged this beautiful bird onto the monolith and I added several gems and a Tim Holtz word chip to finish! My mister has told me I’m not allowed to give this to anyone in the family unless I make a better one for us lol! So I guess I will have to make some more for gifting lol! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x

You did a remarkable job on this project! You really brought that hummingbird to life with your coloring skills. It has a great sense of movement and I also like how you added such depth with varying textures and layers. I also really like the structure of this and how it's on a stand. What a gorgeous piece of home decor this will be! Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
