Paris ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your week is going well. I decided to create a canvas using some of my newly acquired lovely stash of charms and snip art and here it is …

An A5 canvas
Lots of lovely depth and texture
All the yummy details
The tower!
Lots of lovely details
A final look

Created for me and especially for these Challenges

I think you can see the words on the background as well as the chipboard

More Than Words Challenge June Journey & Map
The word journey inspires me to create projects of places that we have visited
The map element of my project I checked out maps of Paris and found that the Eiffel Tower is on those maps and there are mini Eiffel Towers across my papers

This was a project that evolved and changed as I started to create it. It was only after I had finished that I was aware of the different elements and products that I used to create it. I got lost in the making of it and that felt so good to do so lol!

I wanted to create a travel themed canvas and looking through my box I found the Arc de Triomphe chipboard, the phrase chipboard, the charms and the patterned papers that were Paris themed. The colour of the papers dictated the acrylic paint colour I used on the canvas and once that was dry I trimmed the patterned papers then stamped some detail onto them before starting to play – should I use this or that, this lace or no lace etc., a lovely play session. I have set myself up a couple of boxes with charms, chipboard/snip art, lace, papers and other nice bits and pieces that I have put together to use on canvas or home décor projects. I dip in and out of this box picking bits that I think will work together to create a cohesive project. Oh crumbs I really hope that makes sense! If and when I need to change the colour or add colour to a product I do so before sticking it on.

I do make sure that I have positioned all the elements in the order I want them, then I photograph them before starting to stick bits and pieces on. It’s what works for me because I always make mistakes if I stick a piece at a time. I have to nail the finished look before I start in with the glue. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x
