House of Cards July ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your weekend is going well. The months appear to be swooshing by and today I’m back with my House Of Cards post. Once again and as per usual we have a choice for you: use the colour palette or be inspired by the photograph or use both options and here they are …

I don’t have any ice lolly images but I do have food images so I decided to incorporate both the image and the colours in my card and here it is …

An A5 card
Lemons and Apples aplenty
All the inky details
Lots of decoupaged lemons
And lots of shimmer and shine too!

Created for me and especially for these Challenges

Many layers of ink, stamping, stencilling and die cutting went into creating this card and I have to admit that I am more than happy with the end result, lol! I started out be stamping the lemons twice onto my A5 card and once I had them in the correct position I worked my way around them with one of my Sheena Douglass stencils with Distress Oxide inks and Distress inks both being used. Once I had that background figured out I stamped each of the lemon branches twice onto snippets of white card so that I could fussy cut and decoupage them once they were coloured. Doing them twice gave me a lot more depth and made the lemons look more natural. I used further snippets of white card for die cutting the sentiment, the three apples and leaves which were also then coloured. I used a combination of my Spectrum Noir AquaTints and Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens to colour the stamped and die cut elements.

My finishing touch was to add a Vintage Style Seam Binding bow as I am trying to remember to use my ribbons, still have way too many and I have culled them multiple times already but the Vintage Style Seam Binding is my favourite and I refuse to cull that lol! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x
