Sunset ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your weekend is going well. I’ve been playing with my Spectrum Noir AquaTints and older stamps and here is the end result …
An A5 birthday card
Good to post
All the inky details
The stamped details
A final look

Created for me and especially for these Challenges

For this stamped panel I experimented with the wet in wet watercolour technique. I now know that I overdid the water added way too much at the start but thankfully that is easily remedied. Once I had the card wet but not soaked I started to add the colour from the bottom up. Yellow sand that goes into a beautiful blue green shade, then into a deeper blue. I let the card dry a bit before moving onto the next step because I wanted to keep the shape of the sun as it was setting. Once I had painted the sun I added a little pink then soft blue around the sun to make it look as natural as possible. I left the card to dry overnight as I had added more water than normal. The next day I stamped the reeds and wading birds in position then trimmed the panel ready for mounting onto a card.

I then decided to add stamped detail around the top and at the top of the sides to try and make it look like a view from a window. I think I achieved that lol! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x
