Black and Purple ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your weekend is going well. I took a couple of my favourite stamps out to play with yesterday and here is the end result …

A 150mm square card
No problem posting this one
All the stamped details
A final look

Created for me and especially for these Challenges
Creatalicious Challenge #149 Anything Goes optional purple
Penny Black & More Challenge Autumn Splendour

I stamped the background using grey ink so that it would blend into the background, so to speak. I inked up the Penny Black iris stamp with a paste I created by adding water to Luminarte H2O watercolour. I painted the stamp with the H2O paste and then stamped the flower head, once that was done I inked up the rest of the stamp with my black ink pad and stamped the stem and leaf. It took some time doing it this way but I love the end look that I have ended up with. Once I had the stamped that I wanted I added splashes of pearly white H2O watercolour. Once I had stamped my panel I trimmed it to size and added doodling around the edges. Now I don’t nomally doodle because I can’t draw a straight line, but I was determined to overcome my fear of the wonky so I doodled and dotted with much abandon lol!

I kept the card quite minimal because I wanted those beautiful stamped flowers to be the star which I think has worked and I do love the end result so all’s good! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x

The subtle background looks wonderful with your beautiful iris, Karen. The technique gave a soft look to them. Thanks for sharing your card with us at The Flower Challenge.
